a note from me
Hi friend, I'm so happy you're here :)
My name is Vivian, but you can call me Viv! Words are never enough to express how grateful I am to have opportunities like these - getting to meet and work with the absolute coolest people, and chasing sunsets for a living!
I can talk forever about why I love being a photographer, but instead I'll tell you a little bit about me as a person and my life. We'll be spending a bit of time together before and during your session, so it's important to be sure that we're a great match.
Some fun facts about me...
- I grew up in the Bay Area, and then moved to Southern California to attend UC Irvine. But I'm still a Bay Area girl through and through!
- Outside of photography, you can find me laying in the park with my dog Kora, enjoying lazy Friday nights at home with Thai food takeout and the latest Ali Hazelwood book, attempting (and failing lol) a PR at the gym, going to festivals with my closest friends, exploring new photo-worthy spots, and sipping on my 4th matcha latte of the week.
- I am known as the friend who always has at least 3-4 cameras on me at all times to take photos and vlog everything in sight: a 35mm film camera, Instax polaroid square camera, Sony mirrorless camera, and of course my handy iPhone.
- Fun fact: 80% of my camera roll is taken up by photos and videos of the sunset. If you can't already tell by my portfolio, I am an absolute SUCKER for golden hour and cotton candy, dusk skies. Sunsets feel like a giant warm hug to me at the end of each day. It's like the universe is saying "you did your best today; you can rest now".
- I am probably one of the most 'extra' people you'll ever meet; life's too short to not be extra and make the simple moments extraordinary!!! I love doing the absolute MOST to plan Pinterest-worthy intimate gatherings and fun picnics for my amazing friends.
- That being said, I am a big believer in selfless service, going the extra mile, and treating others how you'd want to be treated. Whether that’s helping strap up your heels, adjusting your hair and outfit, or carrying your items for a few hours — you can count on me to go above and beyond so that your entire experience is nothing short of relaxing and enjoyable.
- A photography goal of mine is to shoot creative sessions outside of California (the gorgeous fall leaves in Vermont and wild flower fields in Colorado are definitely at the top of my list right now).
- Another photography goal of mine is to help others see themselves with kinder eyes. I wholeheartedly believe that portrait photography can help you step into a more confident version of yourself. It certainly has helped me evolve into a proud individual with a stronger, positive self-image!
